Operations app
The app CalPac runs its delivery business on. Every quote request lands as a lead, quotes and invoices go out in minutes (card, Zelle or cash on delivery), and a live map shows every truck in real time. Built alongside a new calpacdelivers.com whose quote form feeds it directly.
[ Under the hood ]What we set up
- Their own server
- A private Ubuntu 24.04 cloud server, set up from scratch and owned by CalPac.
- Hardened
- SSH keys only, root login locked, firewall open to web traffic only, intrusion blocking (fail2ban) and automatic security updates.
- Cloudflare + SSL
- Every page served through Cloudflare, encrypted end to end (Full strict) with a Cloudflare origin certificate created on the server.
- Automatic backups
- Automatic full-server backups, plus the app’s own database backups on the server.
- Google Workspace email
- Quotes, invoices and alerts send from CalPac’s own domain through Google Workspace.
- Google Maps APIs
- Maps, address search and routing on CalPac’s own Google key, locked to their site.
- Private database
- The database only answers the server itself, never the internet.
