WordPress maintenance, done every day.
Updates checked against your pages, nightly backups, security and monitoring, with hosting included and a report every month.
Something wrong today?
Most maintenance problems start with an update nobody checked. Pick what is happening and we will tell you what to do first.
A plugin or theme update took the layout or the whole site down. We roll it back first.
Get it fixed DownAn error page, a blank screen or nothing at all. We find out why and bring it back.
Get it fixed HackedSpam pages, redirects or a Google warning. We isolate it, clean it and patch the way in.
Get it fixed SlowPages take seconds to show, especially on phones. We measure, then fix the real causes.

We watch your site
Uptime checks every minute and real-time security, with alerts straight to our team.
We update it safely
Plugins, themes and WordPress, with your key pages checked before and after.
We back it up
Files and database, stored off the server and kept 14 days.
We report back
A plain-English report of everything we did, sent to you.
Every update gets looked at.
Automatic updates are how most sites break. Ours go through three steps: the update, a before-and-after check of your key pages, and only then live. Anything that changes a page is held back.
- Plugins, themes and WordPress itself, every day
- Screenshots of your key pages before and after, compared pixel by pixel
- Held back updates are rolled back and retried after we find out why
- Every update and every rollback is listed in your monthly report
What we do, and how often.
This is the whole list, not highlights. Every line runs on every plan, and every one shows up in your dashboard.
- Uptime check from outside the server
- Response time recorded
- Alert to our team if two checks fail
- Plugin, theme and core updates
- Visual check of key pages before and after
- Rollback of anything that changed a page
- Security patches as soon as they are released
- Full backup of files and database
- Copied off the server and kept 14 days
- Full malware scan
- SSL certificate check
- Database cleanup: revisions, spam, transients
- Speed check on phone and desktop
- Broken link and 404 check
- Review of held-back updates
- Plain-English care report
- Test restore of a backup
- Plugin review: unused, abandoned or heavy
- PHP version and server settings check
What “held back” means.
About one update in ten changes something on a page. Here is what happens to those, and what you see.
What we do
The update is rolled back within seconds, so your visitors never see the change. The plugin stays on its previous version, which keeps working.
We look at the difference: a shifted slider, a missing button, a font that changed. Usually the cause is a setting the new version reset or a conflict with another plugin. We fix the cause or wait for the next release, whichever is safer.
If the held-back update is a security fix, we do not wait. We patch the hole another way, with a firewall rule or a setting, until the plugin can be updated cleanly.
What you see
A line in your dashboard the same day: which plugin, which version, what changed on which page, and what we are doing about it.
The same line in your monthly report, with the date it was finally applied.
Nothing else. You do not have to approve a rollback or test a page. If we need a decision from you, for example to replace a plugin that keeps breaking, it arrives as a request with a live status, and you answer when you have a minute.
You never have to ask “any update?”
Every request gets a live status in plain English from the moment it lands, right in your dashboard.
- Nine clear states, not just Open and Closed
- Every status change, timestamped
- Close finished work with one click, or send it back
- Your sites, backups, billing and uptime in the same place
What maintenance actually includes.
Daily updates, checked
Every update is followed by a visual check of your key pages. Anything that changes gets rolled back.
Nightly backups
Your files and database, stored off the server and kept for 14 days. Restores are free.
Uptime monitoring
Checked every minute. If your site goes down, we get the alert and start fixing it.
Security
Real-time firewall, malware scanning and automatic cleanup on every plan.
Database cleanup
Old revisions, spam and expired data cleared out every week to keep things quick.
Monthly report
Updates installed, backups taken, issues fixed and changes made, in plain English.
A report you can actually read.
Once a month you get a short report of what we did. No charts you have to decode, just what happened and what we fixed.
What is in it
- Updates applied. Every plugin, theme and core update, which ones were held back and why.
- Backups. How many ran, where they are kept, and the result of the monthly test restore.
- Uptime. The percentage, the number of checks, and any outage with what caused it.
- Security events. Attacks blocked, logins stopped, anything cleaned.
- Time used. Development time used against your plan, with the requests it went to.
WooCommerce stores
Stores need more than updates. On WP Boost and up we also check the checkout after every update, place a test order every week, and make sure order data is in every backup. Read how WooCommerce maintenance works.
Doing it yourself vs a maintenance plugin vs Upstrike.
A plugin can click Update for you. It cannot look at the page afterwards, and it cannot fix what it broke.
| What you get | Doing it yourself | A maintenance plugin | UPSTRIKE |
|---|---|---|---|
| Updates | When you remember | Automatic | Daily, with a visual check |
| Checking pages after an update | If you have time | Not possible | Before and after, every time |
| Rolling back a bad update | Restore and hope | Some plugins, manually | Automatic, then fixed |
| Backups | A plugin on the same server | Often on the same server | Nightly, off the server, 14 days |
| Uptime monitoring | You find out from a customer | Add-on | Every minute, we get the alert |
| Security and malware cleanup | A plugin, and you clean up | Not included | Firewall, scans and cleanup included |
| Hosting | Separate | Separate | Included |
| Someone to fix what breaks | You | Nobody | WordPress developers, free |
| Monthly cost | Your time plus tools | $10 to $50 plus hosting | From $99, hosting included |
Who this is for, and who it isn’t for.

- Your site is a hobby with nothing riding on it
- You want maintenance on hosting we do not control (we can only check what we can see)

See plansHow often do you update WordPress, plugins and themes?
Every day. Each update is followed by a visual check of your key pages, and anything that looks different is rolled back and fixed before we try again.
How long do you keep backups?
Nightly backups of your files and database are stored off the server and kept for 14 days. Restoring one is free.
Do you maintain WooCommerce stores?
Yes. WP Boost, WP Pro and WP Scale add WooCommerce store care: checkout monitoring, test orders and order data checked in every backup.
Do I need maintenance if my site rarely changes?
Yes. Plugins, themes and WordPress still need updates, and attacks don’t care how often you post. WP Shield is built for exactly that.
What happens if my site goes down?
Our monitoring alerts us first and we start fixing it right away. If needed, we restore last night’s backup.
Can I switch plans later?
Any time, from your dashboard. Upgrades are charged the prorated difference right away. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing month.
What is a visual check?
Before each update we take screenshots of your key pages: the homepage, contact page, top landing pages and the checkout if you have one. After the update we take them again and compare. If anything moved or disappeared, the update is rolled back and we find out why.
What if an update is held back for a long time?
We tell you in the report and in your dashboard. Usually the next release fixes it. If a plugin keeps breaking your site, we suggest a replacement and do the swap with your development time, or free if it is a small one.
Where are backups stored?
Off the server, in a separate storage location in the same region. A problem on the server, including a hack, cannot touch them. They are kept for 14 days and we test a restore every month.
Can I ask you to restore a backup?
Yes, from your dashboard or by asking us. Restores are free. You can restore the whole site or just the files or the database.
Do you clean up plugins I do not use?
We list unused and abandoned plugins in your monthly report and remove them with your OK. Fewer plugins means fewer updates, fewer holes and a faster site.
Will I still have admin access?
Yes, full access. It is your site. We ask that you let us handle updates so the visual checks keep working, but you can log in and do anything you like.
