Move your WordPress site to Upstrike, free.
We copy your site, check every page on a temporary address, and switch your domain at a quiet time. Your old host keeps running until we confirm. Nothing about your site changes except who looks after it.
Your site is copied, not cut over blind. Visitors keep landing on the old host until the new copy has passed every check.
Five plain steps. You do the first one.
Every step shows up as a status in your dashboard, so you always know where the move is.
You give us access
After checkout you send your hosting login or SFTP details, your WordPress admin login and access to your domain's DNS. The dashboard has a form for it.
We copy the site to Upstrike Hosting
Files, database and media are copied to your own isolated space on Upstrike Hosting. Your live site is not changed or slowed while we do it.
We check it on a temporary address
The copy runs on a private address while we click through every page, submit your forms, test logins and compare it to the original. Anything different gets fixed first.
We switch DNS at a quiet time
We point your domain to the new copy during the window you picked. Visitors are served by whichever copy they reach, and both are identical, so nobody sees a gap.
The old host keeps running until we confirm
We watch traffic land on the new copy, check SSL, forms and email again, then tell you it is safe to cancel the old plan. Not before.
We aim to have your site moved within 24 hours of getting working access. Delays outside our control, like missing logins or your domain registrar, don't count against that. If the clock is waiting on something, the status in your dashboard says exactly what.
Four things, and we take it from there.
You do not need to know how any of it works. If you are not sure where a login lives, tell us the name of the company and we will walk you through finding it.
- Your current hosting login, or SFTP details if you have them
- A WordPress admin login for the site
- Access to your domain registrar or wherever your DNS is managed
- A quiet window for the switch, usually an evening or early morning
Logins are stored encrypted, used only by the people doing the move, and you can change them the moment we are done. If you cannot find hosting access at all, we can usually still move the site using WordPress admin alone.
Your site, exactly as it is. Just better looked after.
A move is a copy, not a rebuild. Everything your visitors and Google know about your site stays the same.
We don't host email, and your email doesn't move.
Upstrike looks after your website. Your email stays wherever it is now: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, your registrar or anyone else.
When we switch DNS, we change only the records that point to your website. The MX records that route your email, and the records that prove your mail is genuine, are left exactly as they are. We write them down before we touch anything and check them again after.
If your email currently runs on the same hosting account as your website, tell us before the switch. Cancelling that host would cancel your email too. We will help you move it to a proper email provider first, and set the records so both your mail and the emails your site sends, like form notifications and order confirmations, keep arriving.
Emails sent by your site itself are checked as part of the move. We send a test from your contact form and, for stores, a test order, and confirm both land in an inbox and not a spam folder.
Why nobody sees your site go dark.
The trick is simple: two complete copies of your site exist for a while, and both work.
Your old host is never switched off by us. We build a full copy on Upstrike Hosting and finish every check before your domain points to it. When DNS changes, the internet does not flip at once. For a few hours some visitors still reach the old copy and some reach the new one. Because the two are identical, it makes no difference which one they land on.
For a site that takes orders or form submissions during that overlap, we shorten the window ahead of time so the change spreads in minutes rather than hours, schedule the switch for your quietest period, and check the old copy afterwards for anything that arrived there. If something did, we carry it over by hand.
SSL is issued on the new copy before the switch, so there is no moment where a browser shows a security warning. Uptime checks every minute start as soon as the new copy is live.
What to do with the old host.
Three small things, in this order, once we have told you the move is confirmed.
Leave it running for a week
We confirm the move once traffic, forms, email and SSL have all been checked on the new copy. Keep the old account alive for about a week after that. It costs little and removes any risk.
Check what else lives there
Email accounts, other domains, old sites, backups you still want. Download anything you want to keep. We can take a final backup of the old site for you and store it with your nightly backups.
Cancel the plan, keep the domain
Cancel the hosting plan only. If the same company is your domain registrar, keep that part or transfer the domain to a registrar you prefer. Never let the domain lapse.
Any kind of host. Each has its own quirks.
We have moved sites from every kind of setup. Here is what to expect from yours.
Shared hosting
The most common starting point. Usually a control panel login and a file manager. We copy through SFTP, export the database, and check for hard-coded paths and leftover caching plugins that no longer apply.
Managed WordPress hosts
These often restrict SFTP, bundle their own caching and block some plugins. We work from their backup export or admin access, remove the host-specific pieces, and make sure nothing depends on their CDN.
A developer's own server
A site a freelancer or agency hosts for you. The main task is getting access. Once we have it, we copy everything, document any custom setup they built, and make sure you end up owning your own logins.
A page builder host
If your site is already WordPress with a page builder plugin, it moves as normal. If it is a closed builder that is not WordPress, there is nothing to copy; that is a rebuild, and we will tell you honestly before you pay.

See plansIs the move really free?
Yes. Moving your site in is part of every plan, from WP Shield at $99 a month up. There is no setup fee and no charge per site. Extra sites on the same plan are $79 a month each, and moving those in is free too.
How long does it take?
We aim to have your site moved within 24 hours of getting working access. Delays outside our control, like missing logins or your domain registrar, don't count against that. Large stores with many gigabytes of media can take longer to copy, and we will tell you up front if yours will.
Will my site be down during the move?
No. Your old host keeps serving visitors while we copy and check the new version. The DNS switch happens at your quiet time, and both copies work during the overlap. SSL is in place on the new copy before the switch.
Do I have to change my domain or email?
No. Your domain stays at your registrar and we only change the records that point to the website. Email records are left alone. We do not host email, so it stays with your current provider.
What if I don't have my hosting login?
Tell us who the host is and we will help you recover access. In most cases we can also move a site using only the WordPress admin login. The 24-hour clock starts once we have working access of either kind.
Can you move a WooCommerce store without losing orders?
Yes. We schedule the switch for your quietest period, shorten the DNS window beforehand, and check the old copy afterwards for any orders placed during the overlap. Anything found there is carried over by hand.
What if something is different after the move?
Tell us in your dashboard and we fix it, free, as part of the move. Your old host is still running during the first week, so there is always a working reference and nothing is lost.
What if I leave Upstrike later?
We help you move out at no charge and give you a full backup of your site. No contract, cancel any time, and your first payment has a 30-day money-back guarantee.
